Imbolc / Lammas Celebrations

The celebration of Imbolc is upon us. Waxing light is drawing up the spring shoots after the stillness of the Winter Solstice.

Imbolc is celebrated August 1st or 7th (depending on your path working) in the Southern Hemisphere.

In the Northern Hemisphere our beautiful kin are celebrating Lammas, the first harvest.

Imbolc means ‘in the belly’ and is the festive season after the birth of the Winter Solstice.

This is where we anoint ourselves, and loved ones around us, with the ‘Green Wand of Life’.

This could simply be a branch with blossoms on it or a freshly blossomed flower.  No need for great pomp and ceremony use what is around you.

Look to Mama Nature, She gives us all that we need.

Does your herb & vege garden need attending too?

Dig your soil, enrich it with nutrients & minerals so you can reap the rewards in Lammas.

Embrace Mama Earth for she is glorious, earthy, natural and instinctive. She has many teachings to share along this sacred path.

Imbolc is the inspirational energy of dawn, engaging with the sensual magick of life unfolding.

Initiations were traditionally performed around this time.

It is a time also where we light candles specially dedicated to Bridie ~ the Celtic Fire Goddess of the healer, physician, wordsmith, poet & creative artisan.

This is a powerful time to call on the element of fire for the cultivation of your healing gifts, creative works and inspirational poetry!

The sacred calling is to vision well and allow yourselves to be kissed by the morning dew.

Stardust blessings
