Please stay tuned for community workshops 2027...

A facilitated creative workshop introducing participants to the concept of dream incubation as a historical and contemporary creative practice.

Participants will explore intention-setting, imagination, symbolic imagery and reflective approaches to dreams, with activities designed to generate material for creative expression and storytelling.

Participants will transform dream experiences, memories and imagery into visual art, creative writing and storytelling. These workshops will encourage experimentation across artistic forms and provide accessible pathways for people with different levels of creative experience to participate.

Gentle, body-aware creative practices will invite participants to explore movement, sensory awareness, visualisation, drawing and writing as ways of responding creatively to dream imagery and personal experience.

The workshop will provide opportunities for creative participation, self-expression, storytelling and connection to place.

Subconscious Landscapes: Community Expressive Dream Practices

An important element of some ancient traditions was the ritual inclusion of oneirogens, which are dream-enhancing botanicals used to encourage vivid dreams, lucid dreaming and spiritual insight. Oneirogens such as mugwort, blue lotus and other sacred plants were valued for their ability to deepen the dream state and strengthen the connection between the subconscious and the divine. While historical evidence varies between cultures, these dreaming botanicals continue to intrigue modern seekers exploring the ancient art of dream incubation and symbolic dreamwork.

The dream temples continue to inspire and mesmerise us to this day, with their wisdom. In the transpersonal ream, there are three expressions dreams can be explored as literal, symbolic and prophetic, with each offering insight and guidance. Modern dream practices such as dream recall, artwork and journalling capture the subconscious, and these practices offer transformative insight. As we sleep, the soul speaks in symbols, inviting us to listen, reflect and awaken to a deeper understanding of ourselves.
